Pressure Cooker Spill? Add few drops of oil
The surface tension of water is higher. The surface tension of water is 72 dynes/cm, while the surface tension of oil is 30–35 dynes/cm.
This causes water to spill out of pressure cookers.
Now Swacch cookers are introduce as an alternate remedy.
Addition of few drops of oil to dhal in a pressure cooker redues the surface tension of water and prevents spill.
Addition of castor oil to dhal is beneficial as it helps in bowel movement and increases omega -3 – fatty acids
